It also explores the implementation of CTS (Science, Technology, and Society) education in the formative process of Building Technicians at Federal Institute of Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN) Mossoró Campus. A pedagogical intervention focused on construction waste management was conducted, during which students produced argumentative texts. These texts were then analyzed using content analysis, supported by textual statistics from the IRAMUTEQ software. The results indicate that students feel the training provided to technicians inadequately addresses the socio-environmental impacts of the construction industry. The intervention stimulated reflection on the significance of the topic for the sustainable development of the construction industry, emphasizing the integration of CTS education into the educational journey of the technicians.Este estudio analizó las percepciones de un grupo de estudiantes sobre las relaciones entre la construcción civil, la sociedad y el medio ambiente, así como el uso de la educación CTS en el proceso formativo de los Técnicos en Edificaciones formados por el Instituto Federal de Río Grande do Norte (IFRN). Para ello, se llevó a cabo una intervención pedagógica con el tema de la gestión de residuos de la construcción civil, en la que los estudiantes produjeron textos argumentativos analizados a través del análisis de contenido, respaldado por estadísticas textuales del software IRAMUTEQ. Los resultados indicaron que los estudiantes consideran que la formación proporcionada a los técnicos no aborda adecuadamente los impactos socioambientales de la construcción civil. Además, la intervención fomentó la reflexión sobre la importancia del tema para el desarrollo sostenible de la construcción civil, utilizando la educación CTS en el camino educativo de los técnicos.Este estudo analisou as percepções de um grupo de estudantes sobre as relações entre a construção civil, a sociedade e o meio ambiente, bem como o uso da educação CTS no processo formativo dos Técnicos em Edificações formados pelo Instituto Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (IFRN). Para isso, foi realizada uma intervenção pedagógica com o tema gestão de resíduos da construção civil, na qual os alunos produziram textos argumentativos tratados a partir da análise de conteúdo, apoiada na estatística textual do software IRAMUTEQ. Os resultados indicaram que os estudantes consideram que a formação oferecida aos técnicos não aborda adequadamente os impactos socioambientais da construção civil.
