This article reviews diverse data representing different manifestations of creative industries, and the analysis thereof shows two things: on the one hand, the Peruvian State insists on deploying scarce resources to these areas, and, on the other hand, it gets lost in projects which due to their disconnection from experience and practice of local organizations and initiatives end up being too distant from the reality in Peru. Finally, this article provides proposals, in particular the Internet as platform for development and diffusion of intellect in Peru.A partir del concepto de las industrias creativas, el presente artículo enfoca el potencial que tienen el intelecto y la creatividad como factores claves para el desarrollo y la generación de riqueza en el Perú. La atención recae sobre cómo se presenta en el Perú la puesta en marcha de políticas de desarrollo de industrias creativas. Este artículo revisa data diversa, representativa de las diferentes manifestaciones de las industrias creativas, cuyo análisis evidencia, por un lado, que el Estado peruano persiste en destinar una escaza inversión a estas áreas y, por el otro, se pierde en proyectos que, al estar desconectados de la experiencia y prácticas de organizaciones e iniciativas locales, terminan siendo demasiado alejados de la realidad del Perú.
