The study revealed that in water nurturing, water becomes a person who is hierarchically superior to men and among the two exists a relationship based on interchange and mutual care. This way to perceive water, is in fact, what allows the community to guarantee its water source and to deal with the drought.El propósito de este artículo es explorar el pensamiento lógico de la comunidad Fortaleza Sacsayhuaman en Cusco Perú, que se manifiesta a través de la relación hombre – agua, en la práctica ancestral andina de criar agua o unu uyway, y cómo esta lógica ha sido usada para afrontar la sequía de sus manantiales. Se han empleado métodos etnográficos basados en la observación participante, bajo la propuesta de Inglod (2015) sobre una etnografía transformativa en la que no se acumula meros datos que luego serán representados, sino que se trabaja con un compromiso ontológico de agudizar nuestras facultades intelectuales y morales. El estudio reveló que en la crianza del agua, este elemento es una persona que ocupa un lugar jerárquicamente superior al del humano, con quien se establecen relaciones de intercambio y cuidado mutuo.
