The study, qualitative and exploratory, finds that the consequences of state initiatives in the social groups of the valley varies because of factors such as origin, age, gender, previous agricultural experience and location of the plots, which are expressed as capitals that facilitate or restrict the decisions of rural actors. From them, farmers will deploy different life strategies, which can be observed as practices and narratives developed to adapt and give meaning to the process they now live.El objetivo de la presente investigación es analizar de qué manera la implementación de iniciativas estatales en materia de lucha contra las drogas se relaciona con la configuración de estrategias de vida en agricultores del valle del Monzón. Para ello, se (a) identifica cómo se desarrolló el proceso de implementación en materia de lucha contra las drogas en el valle; (b) caracterizan las narrativas y prácticas construidas por los agricultores a partir de la aplicación de estas iniciativas; y (c) analiza de qué forma la interrelación entre el proceso de implementación y los capitales de la población se vincula con las estrategias de vida configuradas. El estudio, cualitativo y exploratorio, encuentra que las consecuencias de las iniciativas estatales en los grupos sociales del valle ha variado a partir de factores como el origen, edad, género, experiencia agrícola previa y ubicación de las parcelas, los cuales se expresan a manera de capitales que facilitan o restringen las decisiones de los actores rurales.
