Such an option, contrary to popular belief, is never free from deeply ideological and political motivations, a fact that should be taken into account in the current debate on the scriptural development of Quechua.En el presente artículo se ofrece una interpretación de la obra lingüística del franciscano huancaíno José Francisco María Ráez como una ilustración típica de lo que modernamente se denomina planeamiento de Corpus. Ante la encrucijada de unir o dividir el quechua en el plano de la representación escrita, e l franciscano opta por la primera alternativa, mostrando la "armonía" existente entre el quechua del Valle del Mantaro (Quechua 1) y el de Ayacucho (Quechua 11).
