Descripción
Sumario:Six years after the so-called social uprising in Chile, this article studies, through photographic analysis, the ways in which certain street protest actions (graffiti, protective structures, barricades, and the dispersal of fire extinguisher powder) shaped the protest setting by drastically transforming the streetscape. Based on the analysis of approximately eighteen hundred photographs taken between the Los Héroes and Salvador metro stations between November 2019 and January 2020, the article offers a visual description of the construction of the protest setting. The notion of "setting" is used here as an analytical metaphor, as it seeks to interpret the aggregated outcome of each of the actions mentioned.
