The results indicate that these words increase in frequency at higher levels and are distributed according to the more humanistic or more scientific nature of the subjects and their nature more focused on content or skills. The study concludes by highlighting the importance of examining this vocabulary in order to promote its teaching throughout the entire school trajectory.Este estudio se propuso explorar el vocabulario de los textos escolares chilenos de 4 disciplinas y 12 niveles educativos, analizando cómo se distribuyen las palabras por disciplina, nivel escolar, grado de polivalencia y especialización disciplinar. De un corpus inicial de 2,6 millones de palabras, se extrajeron las palabras comunes a las 4 materias para conformar una lista de vocabulario académico. Los resultados indican que estas palabras aumentan su frecuencia en los niveles superiores, y se distribuyen de acuerdo con el carácter más humanista o más científico de las materias y su naturaleza más centrada en los contenidos o las habilidades.
