Factors of expulsion in China and attraction in Peru are identified, as well as the establishment of servitude as a transformation of the labor market. These migrants played a role in the export of commodities to the global North, while being subalternized historical subjects, with agency and heterogeneity in their experiences in Peru.Se analiza la primera oleada de inmigración china al Perú (1849-1874) como un desplazamiento Sur-Sur del siglo XIX que revela transformaciones en el sistema-mundo vinculadas a nuevos sistemas laborales y a la modernización capitalista que aconteció en el núcleo industrial del Norte global. Se identifican factores de expulsión en China y de atracción en el Perú, y el establecimiento de la servidumbre como una transformación del mercado laboral.
