Descripción
Sumario:This article analyzes the limitations of current territorial planning and environmental assessment instruments in Chile for integrating Mapuche knowledge in the context of wind energy projects. Based on a case study in the Araucanía Region, a qualitative methodology with a decolonial approach was used, combining documentary review, semi-structured interviews, participatory mapping, and multicriteria analysis. The results show that the regulatory and technical instruments of the SEIA present a fragmented view of the territory, omitting cultural, symbolic, and spiritual dimensions that are fundamental to Mapuche communities. Preliminary methodological guidelines are proposed to promote intercultural and participatory planning, based on the recognition of local knowledge, sites of cultural significance, and the dynamics of indigenous territorial planning. Finally, opportunities and challenges for implementing these guidelines within the current regulatory framework are assessed, highlighting the need for institutional reforms, strengthened technical capacities, and the development of specific protocols. The study contributes to debates on territorial justice, intercultural planning, and energy sustainability.
