It is argued that APEC, thanks to its working characteristics, has had considerable achievements and substantial progress towards the fulfillment of the Bogor Goals, which have benefited its members and that, also due to these characteristics, it has successfully updated its agenda through the Putrajaya Vision by reflecting current thematic priorities and the medium-term future. Throughout this work, it will also be possible to learn of the importance of the forum and the benefits it brings, emphasizing the Peruvian case, as well as glimpse some idiosyncrasies of the forum that illuminate its culture of negotiations.Este trabajo analiza el derrotero de APEC desde la óptica de sus actividades guiadas por las Metas de Bogor, hasta 2020 y, posteriormente, por la actualización de su agenda través de la Visión de Putrajaya 2040. Se argumenta que APEC, gracias a las características de su accionar, ha tenido logros considerables y avances sustanciales hacia el cumplimiento de las Metas de Bogor, las que han beneficiado a sus miembros y que, también debido a estas características, ha actualizado con éxito su agenda a través de la Visión de Putrajaya al reflejar las prioridades temáticas actuales y del futuro de mediano plazo.
