Through Bajo la Tienda (1890) by Daniel Riquelme and Sancho en la guerra (1885) by Lucio Venegas, we recognize the use of these repertoires as ways to glorify the conflict while also serving as formulas to condemn the destruction caused by the war phenomenon. These repertoires help us understand the cultural landscape of the time as an active agent in the construction of a certain notion of war.El presente trabajo aplica el marco teórico de polisistemas, de Itamar Evan-Zohar, y su concreción a través de los planteamientos de transtextualidad de Gérard Genette, para analizar los “repertorios activos” de dos obras escritas por actores chilenos de la guerra del Pacífico (1879-1884) publicadas durante la década de 1880. A través de Bajo la tienda (1890) de Daniel Riquelme y Sancho en la guerra (1885) de Lucio Venegas, apreciamos la utilización de estos repertorios en cuanto modos para glorificar el conflicto, a la vez que fórmulas para condenar la destrucción ocasionada por el fenómeno bélico.
