The methodological approach was based in conducting in-depth interviews with 30 gay men who live in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires to reconstruct their love stories. I identify three ways in which love and politics are intertwined. The first one refers to how politics becomes a principle of seduction. The second one implies thinking politics as a hooking-up space. The third one describes the ways through which politics contribute to stabilize couples. I conclude that the description of those crossroads advances in the understanding of love, relativizing self-referentiality’s hypothesis sustained in social studies of love, and unfolding the non-politics category, included in politization studies.Este trabajo analiza los modos en que se cruzan las trayectorias amorosas y políticas de varones gays argentinos con el objetivo de revisar críticamente la hipótesis de la autorreferencialidad del amor en las sociedades contemporáneas y complejizar la noción de sociabilidad para explicar las trayectorias políticas. La aproximación metodológica consistió en realizar entrevistas en profundidad a 30 varones gays que viven en el Área Metropolitana de Buenos Aires, para reconstruir sus historias de amor. Se identifican tres modos en que amor y política se intersectan. El primero refiere a cómo la política se constituye en principio de seducción. El segundo implica pensar lo político como un espacio de levante. El tercero analiza las formas en que la política contribuye a la estabilización de las parejas.
