Based on ethnographic research, it shows that the ojos de agua are conceived both as subterranean springs and as powerful entities with agency, central to this socioproductive activity. Rather than being defined only as «natural water sources» they are recognized as presences endowed with will and the capacity to affect. These attributes reveal a local ontology guided by relational and pluralist principles, where agency is distributed across the visible and invisible world. Within this framework, an apparently economic practice takes on cosmological and ethical dimensions through its entanglement with nonhuman others.Este artículo analiza las relaciones entre los ojos de agua y los salineros de San Miguel de Colorados, en el noroeste argentino, en el hachado de sal en pan. Se muestra que los ojos de agua son concebidos a la vez como vertientes subterráneas y como entidades poderosas con agencia, centrales en la producción de sal. Lejos de ser definidas únicamente como «fuentes naturales de agua», se las reconoce como presencias con voluntad y capacidad de afectar. Estos atributos revelan una ontología relacional y pluralista donde la agencia se distribuye por todos los pliegues del mundo. Así, una práctica en apariencia económica adquiere dimensiones cosmológicas y éticas, en relación con otros no humanos que resultan constitutivos de su realización.Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
