To do this, the author will attempt to make a transition between the radical incompatibility that seems to exist between the two concepts towards a possible compatibility through certain mechanisms of adjustment.El presente artículo pretende brindar una visión sobre la compatibilidad que existe entre las prestaciones de seguridad social que brinda el Estado, que son gratuitas y no se encuentran condicionadas al desarrollo de una actividad, con el salario, el cual tiene su fundamento, ineludiblemente, en el desarrollo de una actividad ya sea de naturaleza laboral, funcionarial o profesional.
