Through interviews and life stories collected in focus groups, the intervention of women in this experience is analyzed applying a gender perspective. The women’s initiative was not limited to cooking, since providing food implied facing care problems that required interventions not only in communal spaces, but also in public spaces. Likewise, the experience represents an example of care and preservation of the environment in the city.A raíz de la pandemia, en el pueblo joven Nuevo Perú los espacios domésticos se extendieron más allá del territorio físico del hogar, en una iniciativa que los habitantes del lugar llamaron Ollita Común Nuevo Perú. Mediante entrevistas e historias de vida recogidas en grupos focales se analiza la intervención de las mujeres en esta experiencia aplicando una perspectiva de género. La iniciativa de las mujeres no se limitó a cocinar, ya que proveer alimentación implicaba afrontar problemas de cuidado que requerían intervenciones no solo en espacios comunales, sino también en espacios públicos.
