The over 100 cases resolved by the Chilean competition authority have involved a relevant evolution in the criteria and tools applied. In this sense, given the similarity between both systems, the author presents how the Chilean experience can feed future discussions and practices of the neighboring jurisdiction, which could enhance coordination and cooperation between the two countries, improving the merger controls with effects across Latin America.La Ley 31112 contempla la creación de un nuevo sistema de control previo obligatorio para concentraciones empresariales en Perú, que entrará en un plazo de 15 días tras la publicación de la adecuación normativa que debe ser elaborada por el Indecopi.El diseño institucional del sistema de control de concentraciones peruano presenta varias similitudes con el sistema chileno, implementado mediante la Ley 20945 y vigente desde el 1 de junio de 2017. Los más de 100 casos resueltos por la autoridad de competencia chilena han implicado una relevante evolución en los criterios y herramientas empleados.
