The results highlight that Brazil leads the region, accounting for 90% of total biofuel production. A sustained regional growth of 3.7% in biofuels was identified over the last decade, driven by policies such as RenovaBio. Finally, the study concludes that the lack of stable regulatory frameworks in other countries is the main challenge to attracting private investment.Este estudio analiza el mercado de biocombustibles líquidos en Latinoamérica, centrándose en el biodiésel y bioetanol como alternativas para descarbonizar el transporte. El objetivo es evaluar el panorama regional, los mercados líderes de Brasil y Argentina, y el estado de la investigación científica en la materia. La metodología consistió en una investigación documental con análisis cuantitativo de publicaciones (2016-2025) y revisión de datos de organismos internacionales como IEA e IRENA. Los resultados destacan que Brasil lidera la región, representando el 90% de la producción total de biocombustibles. Se identificó un crecimiento regional sostenido del 3,7% de biocombustibles en la última década, impulsado por políticas como RenovaBio.
