Due to its importance, this article, from a practical approach, analyzes its normative and jurisprudential modifications so that this crime can be more easily understood.El delito de omisión de asistencia familiar fue incorporado en nuestro ordenamiento jurídico mediante la Ley n.o 13906, promulgada el 24 de marzo de 1962. Ha sido objeto de múltiples modificaciones legales y jurídicas; además, desde el 2015, se ha incrementado excesivamente, de modo que constituye más de la mitad del total de procesos judiciales a nivel nacional.
