description In the present paper, a prototype was developed for the control and monitoring of the water level in the Viñas de Pampas-Tayacaja reservoir. For the development of the prototype, the Arduino UNO board and the HC-SR04 ultrasound sensor were used as main devices; the HC-SR04 sensor allowed to determine the differential of the volume of water deposited in the reservoir. With respect to the development of the graphical interface for monitoring the water level, the mBlock software was used, characterized by its ease of development of very friendly applications; Likewise, a model was built that simulates the reservoir of Viñas del Valle de Pampas, where tests of the operation of the prototype have been carried out. The present paper was developed following the four steps of problem solving: understanding of the problem, plan of activities, execution of activities and test or evaluation of the solution, in the course of Information Management with students of II cycle of the career of industrial engineering.

Para el desarrollo del prototipo se utilizaron la placa Arduino UNO y sensor ultrasonido HC-SR04, como dispositivos principales; el sensor HC-SR04 permitió determinar la diferencial del volumen de agua depositado en el reservorio. Con respecto al desarrollo de la interfaz gráfica de monitoreo del nivel del agua se utilizó el software mBlock, caracterizado por su facilidad de desarrollo de aplicaciones muy amigable; asimismo, se construyó una maqueta que simule el reservorio de Viñas del valle de Pampas, donde se ha realizado las pruebas del funcionamiento del prototipo. El presente trabajo se desarrolló siguiendo los cuatro pasos de resolución de problemas: comprensión del problema, plan de actividades, ejecución de actividades y prueba o evaluación de la solución, en el curso de Gestión de la Información con estudiantes de II ciclo de la carrera de ingeniería industrial.No presente trabalho, foi desenvolvido um protótipo para o controle e monitoramento do nível de água no reservatório de Viñas de Pampas-Tayacaja. Para o desenvolvimento do protótipo, a placa Arduino UNO e o sensor de ultrassom HC-SR04 foram utilizados como dispositivos principais; o sensor HC-SR04 permitiu determinar o diferencial do volume de água depositado no reservatório. No que diz respeito ao desenvolvimento da interface gráfica para monitorização do nível de água, foi utilizado o software mBlock, caracterizado pela facilidade de desenvolvimento de aplicações muito amigáveis; Da mesma forma, foi construído um modelo que simula o reservatório de Viñas del Valle de Pampas, onde foram realizados testes de funcionamento do protótipo.
