description With the arrival of the COVID-19 Pandemic, many activities have been modified, among which are work, student, cultural, and recreational activities. Likewise, the World Health Organization (WHO) has commented that the transmission of this virus is from person to person, as well as the possibility that this virus survives on surfaces for several hours. Given this, the governments of each country have seen the need to propose measures of social isolation or immobilization in order to stop this disease. On the other hand, the arrival of the pandemic has also increased the greater amount of use of products in hospitals, which must be constantly discarded, that is, the waste management system plays an important role there. Years ago, the solid waste and biopollutant management system was inefficient and scarce, which made the pandemic worsen the situation. The objective of this systematic research is to explain the problem of biocontaminated waste management during the COVID_19 pandemic, the qualitative approach research was based on the PRISMA methodology, to obtain information about the development of works on topics related to biocontaminated waste management, For this study, use has been made of databases such as: SCIELO, GOOGLE ACADEMIC, REDALYC AND DIALNET, whose criteria applied were in terms of temporality the last 4 years (2019 - 2022); In addition, regarding the conclusions, the management of biocontaminant waste has not been the most appropriate, but efforts have been made within the collection system, of solid waste, which has allowed the decrease and increase of warehouses for biocontaminant waste, with the purpose to preserve the health of the population and care for the environment.

Asimismo, la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) ha comentado que la transmisión de este virus es de persona a personas, asimismo, la posibilidad de que este virus sobreviva en las superficies por varias horas. Ante ello, los gobiernos de cada país se han visto en la necesidad de proponer medidas de aislamiento social o inmovilización con la finalidad de frenar esta enfermedad. Por otro lado, la llegada de la pandemia también ha incrementado la mayor cantidad de uso de productos en los hospitales, los cuales deben ser desechados de manera constante, es decir, ahí juega un rol importante, que es el sistema de manejo de residuos, años atrás el sistema de manejo de residuos sólidos y biocontaminantes era ineficiente y escaso, hizo que la pandemia empeore la situación. La presente investigación sistemática tiene como objetivo explicar la problemática del manejo de residuos biocontaminados durante la pandemia del COVID_19, la investigación de enfoque cualitativo se sustentó en la metodología PRISMA, para obtener información acerca del desarrollo de trabajos sobre temas referentes a manejo de residuos biocontaminados, para este estudio se ha hecho uso de bases de datos como: SCIELO, GOOGLE ACADÉMICO, REDALYC Y DIALNET, cuyos criterios aplicados fueron en cuanto a temporalidad los últimos 4 años (2019 – 2022); además, en cuanto a las conclusiones el manejo de residuos biocontaminantes no ha sido el más adecuado, pero se han hecho esfuerzos dentro del sistema de recolección, de residuos sólidos lo que ha permitido la disminución e incremento de almacenes para residuos biocontaminantes, con la finalidad de preservar la salud de la población y el cuidado del medio ambiente.Com a chegada da Pandemia do COVID-19, muitas atividades foram modificadas, entre elas estão as atividades laborais, estudantis, culturais e recreativas. Da mesma forma, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) comentou que a transmissão desse vírus é de pessoa para pessoa, bem como a possibilidade de que esse vírus sobreviva em superfícies por várias horas. Diante disso, os governos de cada país viram a necessidade de propor medidas de isolamento social ou imobilização para frear esta doença. Por outro lado, a chegada da pandemia também aumentou a maior quantidade de uso de produtos nos hospitais, que devem ser descartados constantemente, ou seja, o sistema de gerenciamento de resíduos desempenha ali um papel importante. Anos atrás, os resíduos sólidos e biopoluentes sistema de gestão era ineficiente e escasso, o que fez com que a pandemia piorasse a situação.
