This approach also highlighted the importance of addressing inequalities and the needs, aspirations, and rights of these populations. Only through this commitment can truly sustainable and inclusive development be achieved.Hace 30 años, del 5 al 13 de septiembre de 1994 secelebró en El Cairo la Conferencia Internacional sobre laPoblación y el Desarrollo (CIPD), conferencia que significóun hecho histórico en el desarrollo de los derechosHumanos. Produjo un cambió mundial en las estrategiasde población y desarrollo, que se reflejó en la aprobaciónde un Programa de Acción, en el que se estableció laimportancia de priorizar los derechos reproductivos y elempoderamiento de las niñas, adolescentes y mujeresdel mundo. Este enfoque incluyó la atención a lasdesigualdades, así como a las necesidades, aspiracionesy derechos de estas poblaciones.
