A data collection sheet with acceptable reliability was used for the collection of the variables proposed for this study. Statistical analysis was performed with the statistical program SPSS version 26.0. For statistical analysis, the chi-square test and the nonparametric Mann-Whitney U test were used. The approved statistical significance value was p<0.05 with 95% confidence intervals. Results. 37.7% of adolescents have already initiated sexual activity, of which 64.1% of adolescents use contraceptive methods. There was a significant association (p<0.05) for the sociocultural factor: having a romantic partner. Of those who consume alcohol, 60.6% do not use contraceptive methods. There was no significant association for the level of knowledge, sociodemographic factors, source of information and type of family. Conclusions. The factor associated with the use of contraceptive methods in adolescents in the 4th and 5th grades of secondary school is have a romantic partner.

La adolescencia es una etapa, en la cual el comportamiento sexual y reproductivo se va a ver influenciado por distintos factores sean sociales o culturales, sumado a la curiosidad propia de la edad, que determinarán la decisión en cuanto a su salud sexual y reproductiva (1,2). Lo que los convierte en un grupo vulnerable por desconocer o tener conceptos errados sobre su sexualidad. Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), las cifras de embarazo en adolescentes son muy alarmantes. Objetivo. Determinar los factores asociados al uso de los métodos anticonceptivos en adolescentes de 4to y 5to de secundaria de dos Instituciones educativas de San Martín de Porres en el 2022. Métodos. Estudio observacional, trans­versal, analítico y cuantitativo. El tamaño de la muestra fue de 244 participantes. Se empleó una ficha de recolección de datos con una confiabilidad aceptable para el recojo de las variables planteadas para este estudio. El análisis estadístico se realizó con el programa estadístico SPSS versión 26.0. Para el análisis estadístico, se usó la prueba de chi cuadrado y la prueba no paramétrica de la U de Mann-Whitney. El valor de significancia estadística aprobado fue de p<0,05 con intervalos de confianza al 95%. Resultados. El 37,7% de los adolescentes ya ha iniciado actividad sexual de los cuales un 64,1% de adolescentes usan métodos anticonceptivos. Hubo asociación significativa (p<0,05) para el factor socio­cultural: tener pareja sentimental. De aquellos que consumen alcohol, un 60,6% no usan métodos anticonceptivos. No hubo asociación significativa para el nivel de conocimiento, factores sociodemográficos, fuente de información y tipo de familia. Conclusiones.
