The various investigations on the subject report, according to their own results, the degree of link between PEI and school management, but, considering that each Educational Institution has its own reality, the study in question always sheds new light. Thus, in this study, results have been found that show contradictions in the conception of the PEI and whose impact on educational management leads to deficits in the quality of the educational service.La presente investigación plantea una problemática que, si bien es cierto ha merecido la atención de otros investigadores, mantiene su vigencia por las particularidades que caracterizan a las diferentes instituciones educativas y por la responsabilidad que estas tienen frente a sus respectivas comunidades y su rol en el Sistema Educativo Nacional. Las diversas investigaciones sobre el tema informan, según sus propios resultados, del grado de vinculación entre PEI y la gestión escolar, pero, considerando que cada Institución Educativa tienen su propia realidad, el estudio en cuestión siempre arroja nuevas luces.
