The interpretation technique was the discourse analysis in its textual, semiotic, enunciative and pragmatic dimensions. As a general result, it is shown that in the poem the subjective change of the lyrical subject is described, at the personal level of the subject.El objetivo fue interpretar el “Poema del Manicomio” de Carlos Oquendo de Amat desde la perspectiva del análisis del discurso. La investigación se ubica dentro del enfoque cualitativo y como método se utilizó la hermenéutica, basada en la descripción y reflexión. La técnica de interpretación fue el análisis del discurso en sus dimensiones textual, semiótica, enunciativa y pragmática.
