description The objective of the research was to develop an instrument for assessing the instructional design quality of virtual classrooms created by undergraduate students majoring in Mathematics Education for Secondary Education, with the aim of enhancing mathematics education at that level. The instrument was validated using a quantitative methodology, which included expert evaluations and internal consistency based on 237 assessments of 21 virtual classrooms. The instrument is based on criteria improvements from Spain's INTEF, evaluating didactic description, content quality, adaptability, interactivity, motivation, format and design, navigation, and accessibility of audiovisual content, with adaptations made for improvement. High validity and reliability were achieved. The instrument allows for the evaluation of didactic units in the Dominican mathematics curriculum at the secondary level. This research promotes effective instructional design in virtual classrooms, thereby preventing confusion and frustration among students in poorly designed online courses.

El instrumento fue validado con una metodología cuantitativa que incluye la evaluación de expertos y la consistencia interna a partir de 237 evaluaciones de 21 aulas virtuales. El instrumento está basado en mejoras de criterios del INTEF de España, evaluando la descripción didáctica, calidad de contenidos, adaptabilidad, interactividad, motivación, formato y diseño, navegación y accesibilidad del contenido audiovisual, se han realizado adaptaciones para mejorar. Se obtuvo alta validez y confiabilidad. El instrumento permite evaluar unidades didácticas del currículo dominicano de matemáticas a nivel secundario. Esta investigación promueve un diseño instruccional efectivo en aulas virtuales, evitando la confusión y frustración de los estudiantes en cursos en línea mal diseñados.O objetivo da pesquisa foi desenvolver um instrumento para avaliar a qualidade do design instrucional de salas de aula virtuais criadas por estudantes de graduação em Matemática com foco na Educação Secundária, com o objetivo de melhorar o ensino de matemática nesse nível.
