In one house (0.26%) of 26 infested houses we found that chirimachas examined were infected with T-cruzi, since ninpha II stage until adult parasite in 29 (13.74%) examined, being the bedroom where we found the greatest number of infected triatomineos.La enfermedad de Chagas es una zoonosis causada por Trypanosoma cruzi, cuyo principal vector en Perú es el Triatoma infestans, triatomineo conocido como chirimacha. Se determinó la Infestación Domiciliaria al estudiar 169 viviendas, de las cuales 26 (12.26%) estaban infestadas con chirimachas. Durante los días 17 a125 de agosto de 1996 se colectaron 228 triatomineos y se examinaron 211 (92.54%), encontrándose 29 (13.74%) infectados con T.cruzi. De las 26 viviendas infestadas con chirimachas solo en una (0.26%) las chirimachas examinadas estaban infectadas con trypanosoma desde las formas 1arvarias, de ninfas II hasta adultos, siendo el dormitorio donde se encontró el mayor número de triatomineos infectados.Universidad de San Martín de Porres.
