This work focuses on the government of the judiciary, analyzing the different typologies that exist and studying 12 cases in which the judiciary council model is chosen. The study examines key aspects such as the nature of the council to understand its institutional affiliation in the system, the election processes of its members as well as its governing bodies and finally its competence framework for action, detecting similarities as well as important differences between the systems analyzed.Uno de los elementos menos analizados por la Ciencia Política y de la Administración Pública radica en el estudio del poder judicial como un verdadero poder del estado cuyas decisiones, además de trascendencia jurídica, tienen una importante repercusión social y política. El presente paper se centra en el gobierno del poder judicial analizando las diferentes tipologías que existen y estudia 12 casos en los que se opta por el modelo de consejo de la magistratura.
