What happens is that there are no entities, not from academy, political parties or think tanks, that have approached the subject seriously and in depth, taking into account the complexity of regionalization, the way in which public policies that compromise it or how regionalization would help to build a vision of the future. This article is an introduction to it.Es usual escuchar que la descentralización y regionalización ha fracasado en el Perú. Sin embargo, más allá de planteamientos generales como el de culpar a esta descentralización de la ineficiencia y corrupción, no hay un análisis de fondo que descubra la verdadera problemática regional. Lo que sucede es que no hay entidades, ni desde la academia, los partidos políticos o centros de ideas, que hayan abordado el tema con seriedad y profundidad, tomando en cuenta la complejidad de una regionalización, la forma como se debaten las políticas públicas que la comprometen o la forma como la regionalización ayudaría a construir una visión de futuro.
