Besides the pulmonary complications, the medical community has called attention to the cardiac compromise. In this brief article we review the most important aspects of COVID-19 related myocardial injury, the possible mechanisms, the prognostic implications and the possible persistent myocardial injury and physical activity restrictions in patients who recovered from the infection.La enfermedad por coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19), en menos de un año, ha tenido un impacto descomunal en la salud pública mundial. Se ha reportado más de 35 millones de casos y más de un millón de fallecidos. Se teme que la pandemia no se solucione en el corto o mediano plazo. Luego de la afectación pulmonar, el compromiso cardíaco ha llamado la atención de la comunidad médica.
