Theseissues are discussed in this article.De acuerdo con la Convención de Naciones Unidas sobre los Derechos del Niño de1989, el principio del “interés superior” ha de ser la “consideración primordial” en latoma de decisiones relativas a todo niño (cfr. artículo 3 de cdn). Los estados habránde implementar los procedimientos pertinentes que permitan determinar qué decisiónse corresponde en cada caso con dicho interés superior. Igualmente, y respecto de losniños en un entorno de conflicto armado, el acnur ha desarrollado dos procedimientos—“evaluación del interés superior” (eis) y “procedimiento para la determinación delinterés superior” (dis)— a que cabe acudir cuando los diseñados por los estados noestén disponibles.
