Our results show tbat more than 75% of patients haave a statistical significative lmprove in all the parameters evaluated. The mechanlsm or actions is by accumulation In the cartilage avolding the cartilage degradatlon. Tbe secondary slde effetcs were mild. We concluded that GAGPS are effectively a in tbe treatment of osteoarthrosis.Se evaluaron en un e.~tudlo prospectivo a 91 paiclentcs con diagnóstico de osteoartrosls que recibieron tratamiento con gllcosamlnogllcano pollsulratado (GACPS): 85 fueron tnatados por vía IM y6 por vía intrarticular. Los parámetros clínicos estudiados fueron: dolor en reposo, dolor al movimiento, rigidez post-reposo, crujido y limitación funcional. A tódos los pacientes al Inicio y final del estudio se le!I solicitó nadlograrías y exámenes de sangre y orina. Los resultados demuestran que mús del 75% de pacientes observaron mejoría estlldísticamente significativa en todos los parámetros, excepto el crujido arllculur que rtqulere una evaluación a brgo pbzo. El íármnco es de uso seguro por cuanto los efectos secundarios futron escaso,, El mecanismo de acción del GAGPS es por acumulación en el cartílago, evitando de esta manera su degradación al Inhibir enzimas proteolítlcas.
