The purpose of this article is to acknowledge such contributions in the context of the evolution of scientific and historical knowledge of this disease.El actual estado del conocimiento de la Enfermedad de Carrión, patología existente fundamentalmente en algunas zonas de la serranía peruana, se debe, en gran medida, a las investigaciones de los médicos de esa nacionalidad, sin embargo, galenos, otros científicos, viajeros, publicaciones y adelantos tecnológicos provenientes de otros países también han brindado aportes sobre esta entidad nosológica, algunos trascendentes y otros contraproducentes.
