Results: The average age was 42 with median age of 39. The varicose veins disease were more frequently in female population. The complications were minimal with predominance of proximal segment (over the knee). Conclusions: The ambulatory safenectomy requiere less invasive boarding, without hospitalization, with minimal complications and good cosmetic results.La enfermedad varicosa de los miembros inferiores constituye un problema de salud en ambos sexos, siendo el procedimiento quirúrgico importante para su tratamiento. Objetivo: El presente trabajo busca identificar los resultados de la safenectomía segmentaria ambulatoria y sus complicaciones. Material y métodos: Investigación prospectiva, descriptiva y analítica en 27 paciente portadores de várices esenciales en los miembros inferiores durante enero a diciembre del 2003, a quienes se les trato con safenectomía segmentaria ambulatoria. Resultados: La edad promedio de presentación fue de 42 años, con una mediana de 39. La Enfermedad varicosa fue más frecuente en la población femenina. Las complicaciones fueron mínimas con predominio del segmento proximal (por encima de la rodilla).
