Se procede con un minucioso análisis retórico para postular que los textos se valen de la figura de la ballena para representar un sistema sociopolítico que reprime a los sujetos que lo integran, a quienes se les niega un conocimiento pleno y la libertad para decidir el rumbo de sus vidas. Así, los sujetos no tienen otra opción más que validar el sistema hegemónico que los aliena y los explota, ya que están inevitablemente articulados con él. De esta manera, el mensaje final de los poemas se emparenta con la noción de «violencia simbólica», expuesta por el sociólogo francés Pierre Bourdieu.The following article analyzes two poems by Antonio Cisneros: “Poema sobre Jonás y los desalienados” and “Apéndice del poema sobre Jonás y los desalienados”, from the book Canto ceremonial contra un oso hormiguero (1968). We proceed with a thorough rhetorical analysis to postulate that the texts use the figure of the whale to represent a sociopolitical system that represses the subjects who are part of it, who are denied full knowledge and the freedom to decide the course of their lives. Thus, the subjects have no choice but to validate the hegemonic system that alienates and exploits them, since they are inevitably articulated with it.
