Descripción
Sumario:A conventional interpretation of Lo prohibido (1884-1885), by Benito Pérez Galdós, conceives this roman as the most naturalistic among the many written by the Spanish author. However, many of its notable naturalistic characteristics are rather a parody of the features of the French literary movement, which was at its peak during those years. The whole story told, besides, denies the typical movement’s determinism in a consistent way. That is why, rather than an example of naturalism, the novel can be considered a critique of it.
