We believe this is an important text because it is a stylistic breakup with his contemporaries. His writing –linked to the French paradigm from the existentialist philosophical tendency to the aesthetics of the nouveau roman– produces a kind of subjectivity as a result of his perception of the world. This aspect, under the context of the Latin American Literary Boom is incompatible and keeps it apart from general interest.El presente artículo pretende mostrar el valor de la novela Una piel de serpiente dentro de la obra narrativa del escritor Luis Loayza. Creemos que se trata de un texto importante, pues se constituye como una escisión estilística respecto de sus contemporáneos. Su escritura -vinculada al paradigma francés desde la tendencia filosófica existencialista hasta la estética del nouveau roman- elabora una subjetividad producto de la percepción del mundo.
