Descripción
Sumario:This Business Consulting analyzes the performance of the supply chain management of the company Manufactura de Metales y Aluminio RECORD S.A. (MMA RECORD S.A.) to identify the main problems in its management. Among the challenges are demand management in VUCA environments (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity), competitive pressure to gain market share, planning schemes with high variability and bullwhip effect, and the lack of an inventory policy that regulates its management; this has caused an increase in inventory days, from 99 to 150 in the last two years, exceeding the target set by the company's management. Likewise, since the end of 2021, the company WWK Comercial S.A.C. took over the marketing of the entire portfolio and the supply management of imported products from MMA RECORD S.A., so the focus on operational efficiency in manufacturing management becomes relevant. To achieve this, it is proposed to implement the DDMRP model (Demand Driven Material Requirement Planning) in two stages: an initial analysis in spreadsheets and subsequent automation with specialized software. It is determined that the proposal is viable according to financial indicators since with an initial investment of S/ 160,000 the Net Present Value (NPV) is S/ 469,292.61 and the Internal Rate of Return (IRR) is 67.47%, which confirms the profitability of the project. In turn, the social impact generated with this implementation identifies a Social Net Present Value (SNPV) of S/ 697,139.68, as well as a Social Relevance Index (SRI) focusing on the Environmental (35%) and Business model in innovation (32%) dimensions when relating the impact of the project with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations Organization. Keywords: inventories, management, optimization, DDMRP, supply, policy, social.
