| Sumario: | The main objective of this work is the design, implementation and operation of an intelligent monitoring system for the detection and diagnosis of faults in an 8.8 km long mineral conveyor belt in the Shougang Hierro Perú mining unit. The thesis includes the design and development of an inspection system that uses advanced technologies such as digital image processing. To achieve this objective, several stages of research and development were carried out, including the adaptation and evaluation of the power supply, the collection and analysis of data using sensors. The results showed that the system increased operational efficiency, reduced downtime and extended the useful life of the conveyor belt by identifying problems early and allowing more effective preventive maintenance. The conclusions highlight the improvement in the detection and diagnosis of faults, which increased operational reliability and efficiency. It is recommended to continue researching, train personnel, integrate the monitoring system with maintenance management, and perform periodic updates to keep up with technological innovations. This study provides useful guidance for the implementation and continuous improvement of inspection and fault detection systems in mineral conveyor belts, contributing significantly to the optimization of maintenance management in the mining industry. |
