Responder esta pregunta permitirá profundizar en la reflexión sobre las posibilidades de supervivencia y renacimiento del APRA en el contexto peruano pero también de los demás partidos políticos tradicionales en general. La pregunta no puede ser respondida sino es teniendo en cuenta el contexto de competencia con APP, que ya tiene presencia fuera de La Libertad. En las elecciones regionales y municipales del 2014 logró ser la organización política con mayor presencia en alcaldías y gobiernos regionales.
