description Las relaciones entre la memoria histórica, la identidad nacional peruana y el bienestar social son estudiadas mediante un diseño correlacional a partir de la comparación entre cadetes de la Escuela Naval del Perú (n = 113), cadetes de la Escuela Militar de Chorrillos (n = 118) y estudiantes de una universidad particular de Lima (n = 115). Los resultados muestran una valoración más positiva de la historia, un mayor bienestar social y una mayor identificación con el Perú en cadetes de la Escuela Naval y de la Escuela Militar de Chorrillos, comparados a los estudiantes universitarios. Así también, la memoria colectiva tendría un rol importante en la defensa de la identificación con el Perú, y una influencia indirecta en el bienestar social, al apuntalar los motivos identitarios a través de narrativas de la historia. Estos hallazgos demuestran la relevancia de los discursos reforzados en las instituciones de formación académica y su relación con la identificación con la nación y el bienestar social.

The results show a more positive appreciation of the history, greater social welfare and greater identification with Peru in cadets from the Naval School and the Military School of Chorrillos, compared to university students. Also, the collective memory would have an important role in the defense of identification with Peru, and an indirect influence on social welfare.
