description La presente investigación, tipo cualitativa de método de investigación documental, tiene como objetivo general el explicar el rol del docente intercultural bilingüe en el fortalecimiento de la educación rural en el Perú. Para ello, vincularemos competencias esenciales para lograr una educación de calidad desde la formación inicial, obteniendo una mejor comprensión sobre la interculturalidad, el bilingüismo y la relación con la comunidad, así como también la formación continua a través de diversas políticas y planes. La formación del profesorado para la educación intercultural bilingüe enfrenta diversas problemáticas y retos. Para una educación que englobe nuestra realidad peruana fortalecer la educación intercultural bilingüe constituye una necesidad y una prioridad de brindar oportunidades de desarrollo integral en equidad. La necesidad de implementar en los planes de estudio de los estudiantes en formación competencias claves, así como desde las políticas educativas buscar la mejora de la formación continua del docente en servicio deben ser un conjunto articulado si se busca una formación de calidad con fin a fortalecer la calidad educativa de la educación intercultural bilingüe en el Perú.
