The differential perturbative method applied to sensitivity analysis for waterhammer problems in hydraulic networks

Descripción del Articulo

In this paper the differential perturbative method was applied to the sensitivity analysis for waterhammer problems in hydraulic networks. Starting from the classical waterhammer equations in a single-phase liquid with friction (the direct problem) the state vector comprising the piezometric head an...

Starting from the classical waterhammer equations in a single-phase liquid with friction (the direct problem) the state vector comprising the piezometric head and the velocity was defined. Applying the differential method the adjoint operator, the adjoint equations with the general form of their boundary conditions, and the general form of the bilinear concomitant were calculated for a single pipe. The calculation of the sensitivity coefficients takes into account the cases in which the parameters under consideration influence the initial condition. For these cases, the calculation can be performed by solving sequentially two perturbative problems: the first one is non-steady, while the second one is steady, with an appropriate selection of a weight function coming from the unsteady perturbative problem. As an example, a constant-level tank connected through a pipe to a valve discharging to atmosphere was considered. The corresponding sensitivity coefficients due to the variation of different parameters by using both the differential method and the response surface generated by solver of the direct problem, were also calculated. The results obtained with these methods show excellent agreement. In this summary single part of an application example is shown.application/pdfengLimaPEinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessInstituto Peruano de Energía NuclearRepositorio Institucional del Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearreponame:IPEN-Institucionalinstname:Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearinstacron:IPENAnálisis de sensibilidadMartillo de aguaTeoría de las perturbacionesThe differential perturbative method applied to sensitivity analysis for waterhammer problems in hydraulic networksinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articleORIGINALPag. 178-182 - ICT 1998-2001.pdfPag. 178-182 - ICT 1998-2001.pdfapplication/pdf42692https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/206/1/Pag.%20178-182%20-%20ICT%201998-2001.pdf9f02dad378ba875392c4d83abe2730bfMD51LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain; charset=utf-8103https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/206/2/license.txt7ecf7b0639239de61a3a1ede9c397fecMD52TEXTPag. 178-182 - ICT 1998-2001.pdf.txtPag. 178-182 - ICT 1998-2001.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain9177https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/206/3/Pag.%20178-182%20-%20ICT%201998-2001.pdf.txt33b54fe771929038164e5cfa64a7dd24MD53THUMBNAILPag. 178-182 - ICT 1998-2001.pdf.jpgPag. 178-182 - ICT 1998-2001.pdf.jpgGenerated Thumbnailimage/jpeg15065https://repositorio.ipen.gob.pe/bitstream/20.500.13054/206/4/Pag.%20178-182%20-%20ICT%201998-2001.pdf.jpgd72c031afa003d565423e9ddb7170b71MD5420.500.13054/206oai:repositorio.ipen.gob.pe:20.500.13054/2062022-02-07 18:05:30.924Repositorio Institucional del Instituto Peruano de Energía Nuclearrepositorio@ipen.gob.peU2UgRGlzdHJpYnV5ZSBiYWpvIHVuYSBMaWNlbmNpYSBDcmVhdGl2ZSBDb21tb25zIEF0cmlidWNpw7NuLU5vQ29tZXJjaWFsLVNpbkRlcml2YXIgNC4wIEludGVybmFjaW9uYWwuCg==
