Habiéndose realizado 135 hernioplastias sin tensión según la técnica de Liechtenstein y 63 hernioplastias, siguiendo las técnicas clásicas (Mc Vay, Bassini), entre los años de 1998 y 2001. En ambos grupos el promedio de edad fue de 60 años, y el rango entre 19 y 92 años. Fue importante el antecedente de hernioplastia contralateral y de hernia recidiva. Las hernias directas del lado derecho fueron las más frecuentes. El tiempo quirúrgico en las hernioplastias sin tensión fue menor respecto a las hernioplastias realizadas con técnicas clásicas. Afectaron la autonomía post operatoria del paciente: el drenaje de la herida y el uso de analgésicos y antibióticos en los pacientes operados por técnicas clásicas. En el mismo grupo fueron más frecuentes las complicaciones, donde destacan el dolor y el sangrado de la herida. Se propone el uso protocolizado de la hernioplastia sin tensión de Liechtenstein por sus mayores beneficios.In the EsSalud Hospital l "Edmundo Escomel" of Arequipa, was studied between 1998 and 2001 to 187 operated patients of inguinalis hernia. There being you carried out 135 hernioplasties without tension according to the technique of Lichtenstein and 63 hernioplasties following the classic techniques (Me Vay, Bassini). In both gro11ps the age average was of 60 years old, and the range between 19 and 92 years old. lt was important the antecedent of contralateral hernioplasty and of hernia relapse. The direct hernias of the right side were the most frequent. The surgical time in the hernioplasties without tension was smaller regarding the hernioplasties carried out with classic techniques. They affected the patient's postoperative autonomy: the drainage of the wound and the use of analgesic and antibiotics in the patients operated by classic techniques.
