This paper analyses the functioning of this instrument, evinces some of the aspects not resolve by this instrument and explains that the reform of the dispute settlement system of the WTO is part of a bigger problem related to the need to reform the WTO.En diciembre del año 2019 expiró el periodo de trabajo de dos miembros del Órgano de Apelación, el que, de esta forma, se convirtió en una institución inoperativa. En este contexto, un conjunto de Miembros de la OMC decidió negociar un mecanismo alternativo para resolver sus diferencias de manera definitiva: «El Arreglo Interino Multipartes de Arbitraje».
