This proposed system includes two stages. In first stage, a feature extraction mechanism that is based on multitexton histogram descriptor (MTH) which has been improved and called 'Enhanced MTH'. In second stage, an CBIR system has been implemented in orden to classificate the differents microscopic images to identify their correct species. Finally, simulation result shows overall success rates of 92,16% in the classification.Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica - ConcytecengIEEE Computer Societyinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMultitexton Histogram descriptorCBIR-1Human Parasite Eggs-1https://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#2.06.02-1Classification of Human Parasite Eggs based on Enhanced Multitexton Histograminfo:eu-repo/semantics/conferenceObjectreponame:CONCYTEC-Institucionalinstname:Consejo Nacional de Ciencia Tecnología e Innovacióninstacron:CONCYTEC#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#20.500.12390/1108oai:repositorio.concytec.gob.pe:20.500.12390/11082024-05-30 15:23:41.799http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_14cbinfo:eu-repo/semantics/closedAccessmetadata only accesshttps://repositorio.concytec.gob.peRepositorio Institucional CONCYTECrepositorio@concytec.gob.pe#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#<Publication xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/1.1/" id="a5a24e4e-d9b4-4126-abd2-5a159126a6b4"> <Type xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/vocab/COAR_Publication_Types">http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_1843</Type> <Language>eng</Language> <Title>Classification of Human Parasite Eggs based on Enhanced Multitexton Histogram</Title> <PublishedIn> <Publication> </Publication> </PublishedIn> <PublicationDate>2014</PublicationDate> <ISI-Number>345778100023</ISI-Number> <Authors> <Author> <DisplayName>Flores-Quispe, R</DisplayName> <Person id="rp03133" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Velazco-Paredes, Y</DisplayName> <Person id="rp03134" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Escarcina, REP</DisplayName> <Person id="rp03135" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Castanon, CAB</DisplayName> <Person id="rp01013" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> </Authors> <Editors> </Editors> <Publishers> <Publisher> <DisplayName>IEEE Computer Society</DisplayName> <OrgUnit /> </Publisher> </Publishers> <Keyword>Multitexton Histogram descriptor</Keyword> <Keyword>CBIR</Keyword> <Keyword>Human Parasite Eggs</Keyword>
The Content-based image retrieval (CBIR) systems and their application in different areas of development, are current research topics, for that reason in this study content-based image retrieval is applied to classificate eight different human parasite eggs: Ascarias, Uncinarias, Trichuris, Dyphillobothrium-Pacificum, Taenia-Solium, Fasciola Hepática and Enterobius-Vermicularis, which are into the class of Helminthes, from their microscopic images.
