Before this waste is returned to crop soil, it can be used in the production of carpophores of Pleurotus sp. in combination with other organic sources. This work characterized, at the physical-chemical level and in terms of the availability of macro- and micronutrients, compost based on the agroindustrial waste of heart of palm and chicken manure. A 2 x 2 x 2 factorial experiment (factor 1 = forms of compost; factor 2 = proportion of waste and factor 3 = harvest times) in one completely randomized design of eight treatments with six replicates was applied. The following maximum values were obtained for treatments (T): pH = 6.50 (T5), OM = 11.49% (T5), CEC = 66.77 mEq/100 g (T2); EC = 9.20 dS/m (T8), ash = 50.12% (T4), C/N = 11.71 (T4), N = 0.72% (T7), P = 154.62 ppm (T7), K = 9590.96 ppm (T5), Ca = 25.60 mEq/100 g (T6), Mg = 17.18 mEq/100 g (T6), Na = 1.38 mEq/100 g (T8), cellulose = 23.72% (T1), hemicellulose = 12.50% (T1). Despite the significant differences between treatments, these results are insufficient for the growth and development of these mushrooms. However, T5 (with a proportion of lignin closest to that needed: 43.64%) is the best to use from day 16 of composting, as long as it is complemented with substrates that cover the needs of Pleurotus sp.Consejo Nacional de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Tecnológica - ConcytecengTaylor & FrancisCOGENT FOOD & AGRICULTUREinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/Pleurotus spchicken manure-1heart of palm waste-1lignin-1palm industry-1Peru-1https://purl.org/pe-repo/ocde/ford#4.01.06-1Composting of the waste of the heart of palm agroindustry for the cultivation of edible mushroomsinfo:eu-repo/semantics/articlereponame:CONCYTEC-Institucionalinstname:Consejo Nacional de Ciencia Tecnología e Innovacióninstacron:CONCYTECORIGINAL2021_Composting of the waste of the heart of palm agroindustry for the cultivation of edible mushrooms.pdf2021_Composting of the waste of the heart of palm agroindustry for the cultivation of edible mushrooms.pdfapplication/pdf1152822https://repositorio.concytec.gob.pe/bitstreams/6fc4a12e-9068-167e-8a42-17a88ec613ab/download816c3552fe63d5d5129b6569cb78ad35MD51THUMBNAIL2021_Composting of the waste of the heart of palm agroindustry for the cultivation of edible mushrooms.pdf.jpg2021_Composting of the waste of the heart of palm agroindustry for the cultivation of edible mushrooms.pdf.jpgIM Thumbnailimage/jpeg13434https://repositorio.concytec.gob.pe/bitstreams/eead9786-43a4-2611-d01a-826c2147b54b/download4f5ffffaeecd03629ac31c1a1e5655d0MD52TEXT2021_Composting of the waste of the heart of palm agroindustry for the cultivation of edible mushrooms.pdf.txt2021_Composting of the waste of the heart of palm agroindustry for the cultivation of edible mushrooms.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain52788https://repositorio.concytec.gob.pe/bitstreams/bc6347fb-ce51-49e7-9a5c-57b80166ce90/downloadf911fd3f7bdc329c7e1894691df521afMD5320.500.12390/2924oai:repositorio.concytec.gob.pe:20.500.12390/29242024-06-19 21:03:50.261https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccesshttp://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessopen accesshttps://repositorio.concytec.gob.peRepositorio Institucional CONCYTECrepositorio@concytec.gob.pe#PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE##PLACEHOLDER_PARENT_METADATA_VALUE#<Publication xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/1.1/" id="6c66cf74-4db7-4d8c-a70e-3d06ab137ebb"> <Type xmlns="https://www.openaire.eu/cerif-profile/vocab/COAR_Publication_Types">http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_1843</Type> <Language>eng</Language> <Title>Composting of the waste of the heart of palm agroindustry for the cultivation of edible mushrooms</Title> <PublishedIn> <Publication> <Title>COGENT FOOD &amp; AGRICULTURE</Title> </Publication> </PublishedIn> <PublicationDate>2021</PublicationDate> <DOI>https://doi.org/10.1080/23311932.2021.1905976</DOI> <Authors> <Author> <DisplayName>Tarrillo, Ever</DisplayName> <Person id="rp08156" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Garcia, Ligia M.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp08158" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> <Author> <DisplayName>Bustamante, Danilo E.</DisplayName> <Person id="rp08157" /> <Affiliation> <OrgUnit> </OrgUnit> </Affiliation> </Author> </Authors> <Editors> </Editors> <Publishers> <Publisher> <DisplayName>Taylor &amp; Francis</DisplayName> <OrgUnit /> </Publisher> </Publishers> <License>https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/</License> <Keyword>Pleurotus sp</Keyword> <Keyword>chicken manure</Keyword> <Keyword>heart of palm waste</Keyword> <Keyword>lignin</Keyword> <Keyword>palm industry</Keyword> <Keyword>Peru</Keyword>
The agribusiness of heart of palm (Bactris gasipaes) generates large amounts of waste, causing environmental impacts.
