The sample was 789 boys and girls of initial 5 years, first and second grade of primary education, belonging to public and private schools, rural and urban areas, of three regions of Peru: Lima, Arequipa and Iquitos. The results of the final evaluation indicated that, after using the educational games in the classroom, scores in reading comprehension and associated skills increased by 15.83%, exceeding the percentage of 10% set as the initial goal. This demonstrates the effectiveness of the use of educational games to significantly improve reading comprehension in children, achieved through the empowerment of playful methodology in teachers, which was a primary factor in achieving these results.La investigación tuvo como objetivo validar juegos educativos que fomenten y desarrollen habilidades relacionadas con la comprensión lectora. Es por ello que se llevó a cabo un programa experimental, que consistió en el diseño, desarrollo y fabricación de los 13 juegos educativos contextualizados, así como su aplicación en las aulas. La muestra, fueron 789 niños y niñas de inicial 5 años, primer y segundo grado de educación primaria, pertenecientes a escuelas públicas y privadas, de zonas rurales y urbanas, de tres regiones del Perú: Lima, Arequipa e Iquitos. Los resultados de la evaluación final indicaron que, después de utilizar los juegos educativos en el aula, las puntuaciones en comprensión lectora y habilidades asociadas se incrementaron en un 15,83 %, superando el porcentaje del 10% planteado como meta inicial.
