Sumario:The Family Planning Program began timidly and as a particular activity in 1964, through a clinic founded in Bogotá by the Association for Colombian Family Welfare -PROFAMILIA- with funds provided mainly by the International Planned Parenthood Federation planned (IPPF); for 1966 the Colombian Association of Medical Schools (ASCOFAME), initiated training programs in family planning for doctors, linked to government institutions and a few years later through its Division of Social Medicine and Population provides family planning services the so-called postpartum, mainly in university hospitals and then reaches its scaling up to 31 Government Hospitals that served as Regional.
