How to avoid errors in the translation of papers into English? A case study

Mr. Editor: We read with interest the article "Barriers to safe abortion under Peruvian law" published in the latest issue of its magazine (1). The article is in English version in Scielo-Peru, and in Spanish and English on the website of the magazine. In this regard we analyze the version published in English and found a translation error in two paragraphs that change the meaning of the statement in the article, and suggest the commission of crimes in public hospitals in Peru. Paragraphs presented in Table 1.
Sr. Editor: Leímos con atención el artículo “Barreras para el aborto seguro en el marco de la ley peruana” publicado en el último número de su revista(1). El artículo se encuentra en versión en inglés en Scielo-Perú, y en español e inglés en la página web de la revista. Al respecto analizamos la versión publicada en inglés y encontramos un error de traducción en dos párrafos que cambian el sentido de lo comunicado en el artículo, y dan a entender la comisión de delitos en los hospitales públicos del Perú. Presentamos los párrafos en la tabla 1.
