This work is based on the study of vaginal discharge smears and culture thereof, made to the HMC from March 1958 to March 1959. Terminología.-Many denominations have been created to name this infestation fungal genital system. Currently they are known in the literature over 80 names for fungal vaginal fluids. We continue using the vaginal Moniliasis because it is a term that has been imposed in medical language. We must make the proviso that the term Moniliasis, in the medical sense, does not mean it has the same meaning in the botanical order.
El presente trabajo está basado en el estudio de los frotis de secreción vaginal y cultivo de los mismos, efectuados en el H. M. C. del mes de marzo de 1958 al mes de marzo de 1959. Terminología.-Muchas denominaciones se han creado para nombrar esta infestación del sistema genital por hongos. Actualmente se conocen en la literatura médica más de 80 nombres para designar los flujos vaginales por hongos. Nosotros seguimos utilizando el de Moniliasis vaginal porque es un término que se ha impuesto en el lenguaje médico. Debemos hacer la salvedad que el término Moniliasis, en el sentido médico, no significa que tenga el mismo sentido en el orden botánico.
